About the project

For Roland Shoes, leather materials were rendered as photoreal 3D visualisations — leather strips with different textures, colours and surface qualities. Use case: product presentation and material selection. The modeling of the strips required a realistic reproduction of typical material properties: slight waviness, seams, edges and the characteristic grain of the leather surface. The UV layout was built so that high-resolution textures could be mapped seamlessly and without distortion. The shader work involved physically correct leather materials with fine roughness and realistic reflection behaviour.
