About the project
For the BAU 2015 key visual — the world's leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems, held in Munich — I handled the complete 3D part in collaboration with Tom Krieger.
Tom Krieger provided the references for each building; I rebuilt them 1:1. The architectural models were then organically deformed so they could be embedded in the anthill — as if they had grown naturally inside the mound.
The anthill itself was created via projection painting: starting from a photograph by Tom Krieger, I built the 3D geometry and embedded the cave with its many architectural structures. The result is a world of its own beneath the surface — modern architecture inside an organic mound.
